Independent non-executive of REalliance CIC, Mark is a lawyer whose passion is building bridges between people with different things to offer. His work as a partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors covers the broad interface between the public, private and third sectors especially in the delivery of new ways of providing public services. Areas covered include: regeneration projects in neighbourhoods and districts; Academies and other schools; social enterprise in key areas such as the NHS and the environment; office accommodation and transformation of central services; leisure and public health; streetscene and community based recycling services; and tackling worklessness. Mark is nationally recognised as an expert on sustainable procurement, especially social issues/clauses e.g. targeted recruitment and training.
Mark is also a director of the Nehemiah Foundation.
Ray Georgeson is an independent professional in the resource efficiency sector. He has over twenty five years experience of the waste and resources management sector variously as a volunteer, campaigner, educator, policymaker, executive and consultant. He was Director of Policy and Evaluation for the Government’s Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) from 2001-2008. Before that, he was Chief Executive of environmental charity Waste Watch from 1996-2000 and previously held a number of other project management posts in the third sector, including managing a social enterprise in recycling.
Ray has a portfolio of activities in the resources sector including the management of his own consulting business, Ray Georgeson Resources Ltd. He is currently advising RPS Group and the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government in Dublin on implementation of a recycling market development programme for the Republic of Ireland.
Chief executive of LCRN, Matthew has worked for fifteen years with social enterprises and community groups, after several jobs in the private and public sectors. Directly before joining LCRN he was Director of Learning at the School for Social Entrepreneurs. Matthew has advised DEFRA, WRAP, Commission for Sustainable 2012, GLA and local authorities on waste minimisation and reuse for three years. He was recently part of the expert panel on DEFRA’s Waste Prevention Evidence Review (WR1204) and is on the Technical Advisory Committee of the New Technology Demonstrator Programme. Matthew also serves on the Investment Committee for the London Waste and Recycling Board and is a non-executive director of Social Enterprise London.
Paddy joined the Board in December 2010. He was a Member of Parliament for many years and brings a wealth of experience from this and from his involvement in environmental organisations. He is currently a vice-President of the Ramblers Association and Chair of both the Nottinghamshire Community Foundation and the Nottinghamshire LIFT Companies.
Cath Kibbler is the coordinator of the Community Compost Network.
Craig Anderson is the chief Executive of the Furniture Re-use Network.
Mal joined the REalliance board in July 2011. He is the CEO of Cylch (Wales Community Recycling Network), Chair of CRN UK and Zero Waste Alliance UK.
